As a child, I collected mica in Central Park, organizing it in shoe boxes according to configuration and “personality”.

That was one of the beginnings of a lifetime intrigue and practice of gathering, collecting and organizing objects.
I’m drawn to those from nature along with the very man made, the common with the unusual.  I take these objects out of context and try to redefine them; expand their boundaries.

I also create large scale site-specific pieces.  I want to see if I can transform spaces through interchanging and ordering these objects, usually used in repetition.

My challenge has historically been:  Who is in charge?.... these objects or me, and/or……does it matter?

These questions drive my impetus to create.
